Basilur Tea has once again proven its mastery in the art of tea crafting, with six of our exquisite teas receiving accolades at the prestigious Great Taste Awards. These awards are a testament to the exceptional quality and unique flavours that Basilur Tea consistently delivers. Our dedicated research and development team consistently strives to craft distinctive tea blends that leave a lasting impression. Receiving this esteemed award, which is open to brands worldwide, is a true testament to Basilur Tea's status as one of the most beloved brands globally. The six unique blends that received recognition for Great Taste are:

The Island of Tea Gold - Pure Ceylon Black Tea - 100g Loose Leaf Tea

The judges were impressed by the Gold Loose Leaf Tea, describing it as a beautiful quality of leaf. They noted its bright liquor with gentle honeyed notes and plenty of body, and praised its malty character when milk is added. Further they noted that this tea takes milk well, making it a satisfying choice for a Breakfast tea in its own right.

The Island of Tea - Special Pure Ceylon Black Tea - 100g Loose Leaf Tea

The Special Loose Leaf Tea was praised by the judge panel for its pretty leaf and the bright, lively liquor it produces. The judges noted its honeyed tone and good thickness, despite the brightness. This tea takes milk well, resulting in a satisfying brew that is not complex but easily enjoyable.

The Island of Tea Gold - 25 Enveloped Tea Bags

Judges found the Gold Tea Bags to have a honeyed nose with hints of citrus, and a thick, full-bodied palate. They mentioned that the tea takes milk well, producing a nicely rounded cup with light astringency. The judges agreed with the description, highlighting its good strength and hardness and the graphite character indicative of quality manufacture.

Specialty Classics - Earl Grey - 25 Enveloped Tea Bags

The Earl Grey Tea Bags were celebrated for their lovely bright amber liquor and impactful bergamot aroma by the judge panel. The palate was noted for its deep orange-noted interaction of Ceylon tea and bergamot oil, takes milk well and suits lovers of strong Earl Grey flavour. The judges further praised the tea's brisk character, good freshness and body, and the crisp high notes and citrus flavour of the bergamot.

Basilur's Magic Nights Black Tea Blend - 25 Enveloped Tea Bags

Magic Nights Tea Bags caught the judges' attention with their bright and coloury appearance in the cup and a markedly fruity aroma, reminiscent of a fruit pastille note. The palate revealed a sweet opal fruit note, which becomes creamy with milk and is enhanced with a touch of sugar. The judges appreciated the bright infusion and mentioned it has a good quality tea base, noting that the fruit flavours combine subtly to enhance the overall taste experience.

Persian Earl Grey Tea Bags

The Persian Earl Grey Tea Bags stood out for their marked mandarin aroma that complements the bright orange-amber tonality of the black tea. When drunk black, it is a tad bitter, but with milk, the bitterness is tamed, allowing the mandarin notes to persist and the tea's flavour to emerge. The judges appreciated the sweet mandarin lifting the blend and the balance of citrus bergamot in the background, calling it a simple but well worked tea. They enjoyed the innovative combination and harmonious citrus notes.

We are immensely grateful for the recognition received at the Great Taste Awards. These accolades reaffirm our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and unique flavours in every blend. We are honoured by the judges' praise and will continue to strive for excellence, ensuring that our teas bring joy and satisfaction to tea enthusiasts around the world.
