Over the years many tales have been re-told and re-written about this special blend of Earl Grey tea. Basilur has yet again re-written the history of Earl Grey tea by combining the exquisite taste of Bergamot oil and pure Ceylon tea. A bright colour once brewed, Earl Grey tea gives a smooth aroma and a taste. As the legend of Earl Grey tea continues, it was named after Charles Grey, the second earl in his line, who was also the Prime Minister to king William IV in the 19th Century. The tale is that the recipe of Earl Grey tea was handed over to him by a Chinese emperor whose life he saved. The oil of Bergamot which is a sweet citrus orange gives its unique taste making it a popular English tea blend around the world.
